Nails for A Royal Appointment!
I have performed nail treatments on a client called Jennifer Pullen who has had a fantastic 2013 and I would like to share her story with you.

Jenny has been a referee involved with local football for 13 years. As well as refereeing she is also involved in teaching & mentoring new referees through their first few matches as well as helping them find suitable leagues and matches to officiate on. She is committed to The FAs "football for all" strategy and has worked with the County FA to assist people with disabilities to become involved in refereeing, including translating the Basic Referees Course into British Sign Language for a profoundly deaf referee.
In August 2013 Jenny was awarded The FA Carlsberg Female Referee of the Year Award in recognition of her work both with disability sports and in the promotion and development of the female game. The award was presented before the England vs Scotland friendly match at Wembley by the Premier League referee Andre Marriner.
Jenny was honoured to be recognised by The FA and was proud to be the first recipient of the award.
However, this wasn't the only time she was to be invited to London to attend an award ceremony. 2013 saw the 150th anniversary of the foundation of The FA and in celebration they held several events throughout the year. O
ne of which was an awards ceremony to recognise 150 'Grassroots Heroes' who work within local football, doing a variety of roles and who support football and its development. Jenny was recognised as one of these 'Grassroots Heroes' and was invited to Buckingham Palace to receive the award from the President of The FA, HRH The Duke of Cambridge.
Following the presentation guests were invited to watch the first ever football match to be played on the palace lawn! During the game Jenny was fortunate enough to get a few minutes to speak with Prince William where they talked about the day and Prince William said how surprised he was to have been given permission for the game on the lawn! They also discussed different areas of football. It was clear that he was genuinely interested in what she was saying and knowledgeable about many aspects of the game.
Jenny has had an amazing year and I feel privileged to have been able to make her hands and nails look stunning for both events!
